Bra and Cup Sizing

Wearing the correct bra size is critical in eliminating the risk of shoulder, back and posture problems.  It is also important to note that sizes vary across brands so we strongly recommend that you try on a bra before buying it to avoid disappointment and the vexation of arranging a return.  All our brands are readily available in most retail outlets and/or conform to European standards.

If you are unsure of your size, our guide below will give you a starting point.  To obtain as accurate a measurement as possible, wear a light bra (minimal or no padding) that fits comfortably on you.

  1. Fit the tape measure under the bust and around your back, ensuring that it is level and not too tight or loose.

  • Size 10:  68 – 72cm
  • Size 12:  73 – 77cm
  • Size 14:  78 – 82cm
  • Size 16:  83 – 87cm
  • Size 18:  88 – 92cm
  • Size 20:  93 – 97cm
  • Size 22:  98 – 102cm
  • Size 24:  103 – 107cm

  1. Measure around your bust and back at its fullest tip.  Check the difference between the two measurements.

A-Cup:  9 – 11cm

B-Cup:  11 – 13cm

C-Cup:  13 – 15cm

D-Cup:  15 – 17cm

DD-Cup:  17 – 19cm

E-Cup:  19 – 21cm

Some other tips:

*If breasts push over the top of the cup, or underwire cuts into the breast tissue, cup size is too small.

*Bra puckering at the cups means the cup is too large.

*If the band feels tight, take the next size.

*For proper breast support, shoulder straps should not be too tight or too loose.

*The bra band should be at the same level across the back as it is at the front.

*For the well-endowed ladies, we recommend bras with wider shoulder straps.

*Ideally use a professional corsetry fitter if one is available.
